Good Grief and New Beginnings

Good Grief and New Beginnings: 1 Corinthians 16

So many in the body of Christ are in a place of transition and change as Father is realigning people for a new season of fruit bearing. In order to transition well from one season to the next, it is often necessary to grieve in a healthy way that sets us free to bear fruit in our new season.

There are a few different types of grief found in scripture.

I briefly cover four examples in the message:

Salvation: Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5 There is a healthy grief over our condition in sin that first leads us to repentance and salvation.

Transformation: Godly sorrow leads to repentance (change). 2 Cor. 7:10 There is a good sorrow and grief that we are confronted with when we encounter issues in our character that still need transformation to better love God and others.

Separation: 2 Cor. 7:6 &13 In the Spirit we are united with Christ and other believers but in our natural bodies we still feel the grief of separation.

Loss of a good thing Father gave us: James 1 says every good and perfect gift comes from the Father. That might be a person, place, thing, ministry, opportunity etc. Sometimes our season, relationships or assignments that we loved change and it is necessary to grieve to move forward in health and joy.

Grief, when done well, leads us back to faith and trust in Father so we can begin our new season well and succeed in our new assignments.

Maybe you are in a transition or change of seasons right now or .. .. . . maybe Father is speaking to you about changing your assignment or your norm. If so, I invite you to listen to some lessons I have learned to grieve and leave what is behind to press on to what Father has next for you.
